Now that we had arrived, we had less than an hour to set up before the Mall opened and the Market was on! Like a well oiled machine, because we had taken the time to do the mock set up, we arranged our display, stacked the crates and madly started unwrapping our inventory. With packing paper flying everywhere, my devoted volunteers and I were getting it done!
I had decided on a two pyramid set up, using 12 crates and my beautifully up to date vintage furniture collection artfully displayed in the middle. Before set up was complete, I made my very first sale, as a gentleman stopped to inquire about a small chalk painted rocking chair. Most interestingly, the gentleman purchased the small rocker for his dog, whom he felt needed her own chair. He was delighted with the purchase and I thought- Lucky Dog!
The day went by very quickly, as small crowds gathered to explore the Just Off Pine display. Some people walked past with hardly a glance, while others stopped short in their tracks to stare at the stacks of livestock sized crates arranged in twin pyramids. Everyone who stopped by was very complimentary, stating that our display was beautifully arranged and that our inventory was thoughtfully curated. I had the opportunity to make 1:1 contact and get very positive feedback from a large number of people. I was absolutely delighted when asked many times "where's your shop located?". I shared contact information about the future Markets we would be attending and encouraged everyone to follow us on Facebook.
